Often those of us far removed from the ways of home are found wanting when visiting our marae or attending a traditional Maori event. To paraphrase Sir James Henarae; "Maoritanga is the accepted word for Maori culture, which encompasses the whole Maori lifestyle - tribal living, behaviour, thought, feeling and experience, passed on from generation to generation. There has been a resurgence of interest by Maori in our own culture and a growing desire to know and experience this today."
